Greatly Improves Suspension Performance while Dramatically Reducing Fade
The standard shocks that come on your Jeep Wrangler just aren't cut out for extremely aggressive off-roading, which makes the extra ground clearance from big tires kind of moot. Well, our friends over at Fox Shocks have a solution for you with this Performance Series 2.0 IFP Rear Shock for Jeep's with 4 to 6" of lift. This shock is a leaps and bounds improvement over typical white-body shocks, and even performance shocks that are included in some lifts. The Fox 2.0 features an internal IFP mono-tube reservoir design that separates shock oil from the high-pressure nitrogen.
2" Diameter Aluminum-Body Shock
The Fox 2.0 IFP Shocks bolt onto your Jeep pretty easily when it comes to installation. The shock itself is 2" in diameter with an aluminum body that improves cooling capability over the majority of steel-body shock on the market. Each shock has a 5/8" chrome-hardened shaft and valving that's been finely tuned to offer your truck excellent off-road performance with making your street ride too harsh. The shock mounts are made out of CNC machined billet aluminum and come standard with nitrile rubber bushings that resist more deflection than stock, but are still extremely quiet.
I normally run Rancho 9000's on my Jeeps but thought I try these on my 2016 JKU. I have used Fox and King in my off road race stuff with great success. Since you can't take these apart you can't change the valving. Stiffest shock I have ever run. Going back to 9000's.
I have ran or installed just about every shock out there minus bypass. This is by far the best for the price. The ride is smooth yet firm when the shock reacts but does not force its way like generic valved shocks do that are typically designed for trucks. I do not get any fade over the washboards or rocks.
